January Sale Goodies

I braved the sales this morning i particularly wanted to visit Lush,I am not one for queueing for hours and no longer have the patience that i used too to physically fight my way the the rails, its not worth the stress, just the mere fact of a one person in m way starts to get my blood boiling.
I went to lush first but it didn't open till 11am so went for a quick browse in another favourite River Island.
I didn't need anything in particular but was on the lookout for a new coat and possibly a purse.
River Island was quite busy but not overly so and was quite calm considering the amount of people inside,i found a lovely purse that will go well with my new bag i received for Christmas and at only £8 it was a bargain.
Next i nipped to New Look where i picked up some nice jewel encrusted dolly shoes up for £9,i am a magpie for anything sparkly and these look lovely on.
I then had 15 minutes to make my way back to lush for the 11am opening only to notice that a small queue had now formed and joined it excitedly.
Once the doors opened that was it,about 30 queuers all scrambled towards the Christmas section at the back of the store for the half price goodies.
All Christmas gift sets,Christmas range and makeup was half price,it was a massive scrum,i literally had to just pick up the boxes that looked the best,if you stopped to check what was in them the rest would have gone, about 80% went in about 3 minutes.
If you bent down to the bottom shelf you couldn't get back up for people leaning over the top of you.I saw people just grab about 6 boxes and saw a basket full of snow fairy,i was happy just to grab one large snow fairy bottle which was the last one.
I am all for a bargain but some people get so rude and pushy its really rude,i want a bargain but not that much pffftttt!
I made my way to another queue for the till where i had no idea what my haul would come and it did come to more than what i was expecting but at half price it is worth it and this lot will last me now till next year!

needless to say lots of reviews to come :)

Did anyone else go to the sales? if so what did you get?

China Glaze All That Glitters Mini Pack

I am a magpie when it comes to nail polishes and when requested for gold sparkly polish by a client it was a great excuse to purchase the China Glaze sparkly polishes that i had my eye on for a while.
This little set is great, although the polishes are mini they are a decent size and will last for ages.
They can be applied on their own or as i like to do,apply over a matching nail polish for added effect.
The red polish -Pure joy, is great for Christmas,it is a great festive red with little bits of gold glitter throughout.
The next -Glitter all the way,is my favourite,it has different coloured glitter and gives better coverage than the others, this looks best over darker polish or on its own.
The nest one is Champagne kisses, this is a gorgeous gold/bronze colour and has loads of sparkle.
lastly is Angel wings, this is a subtle gold fine glitter and looks good over another polish as it does not have as much impact on its own.

All these polishes are high quality, easy to apply and dry quickly, they also last for ages, what more could you want.

I highly recommend one of the best polish brands there is :)

Oat and Bay Conditioning Shampoo Ren Oat and Bay Conditioning Shampoo

I have recently discovered this fantastic brand not only do they use natural organic ingredients and great ethics they are very affordable and effective, before I give my review on this lovely shampoo let me fill you in about the brand.

About REN

REN say that they offer skincare as it should be. They use the latest hi-tech bio actives, free from skin-unfriendly ingredients and are gorgeously pleasurable to use.
REN Skincare is a unique skincare regime that uses the soothing and potent capabilities of powerful plant bio actives. Developed as a real alternative to preservative and chemical laden designer skincare and mass-market products, REN skincare is a natural beauty choice.
They go by 5 principles and I love a product that is not only going to be kind to my skin but also has a conscience:

"We make Clean Products that are free from skin-unfriendly ingredients including: Synthetic fragrance, pore-blocking petrochemicals, sulfate detergents, synthetic colours, animal ingredients * and parabens." In addition, REN products do not contain potential irritants including: glycols and diglycols (such as propylene glycol), PEG's, PPGs, urea, D.E.A, T.E.A, PABA and other synthetic sunscreens, aliphatic alcohols/hydrocarbons, phthalates, fumarates, amines, alkanolamines, synthetic AHAs/BHAs, polyacrylamide, metacrylate, elastomer, poloxamer, styrene, vinyl, polyquaternium, synthetic chelating agents, nylon, nitriles, nitrates, nitrosamine releasers, bromates, fluor, aluminum and alumina etc.* other than milk in our Hydra-Calm Youth Defence Serum and beeswax in our Mayday Mayday Rescue Balm.

REN Clean Bio Active Skincare

"We aim to pioneer new ways of applying the latest discoveries in bio active technology to produce groundbreaking formulations that are Clean, effective and a joy to use."

"We believe gorgeous skincare can just make the world a slightly nicer place to be and make us feel a little nicer being here."

"We do our bit to minimise our use of the world’s limited natural resources. We donate a minimum of 2.5% of our profits to campaigns that promote a better environment and a better life for those less fortunate than ourselves.

"We believe a principle is a principle even if it costs money. We believe we reap what we sow. We prefer goodwill to suspicion, humour to gravitas. We welcome difference."

Now for My Review

I have tried a few various products in the Ren range previously and have been impressed with them so was eager to try their hair care range.
Ingredients
It is a gentle shampoo based on mild cleansers sourced from Oats and using bio actives from Bay Oil (stimulating) and Lemon Oil (cleansing).
This product uses only 100% natural fragrance and is free from harsh sulfate detergents and synthetic colours.
Packaging
The packaging is simple yet also looks quality and not too fussy looking. The flip lid makes it easy to use in the shower.
Texture
The shampoo itself has a nice creamy texture and slight scent, the arma is very natural and not at all overpowering.
It feels really creamy on the hair and scalp but lathers up well but not as much as other shampoos I have used indicating that it is not packed with lathering additives which was a massive plus for me and unlike any shampoo I have tried before.
Effectiveness
Rinsing was effortless but also left my hair feeling thoroughly clean and fresh. It was kind to my skin which sometimes gets a little irritated when rinsing shampoo from my hair.
I followed up with REN Pro Vitamin Hair Conditioner. My hair was left wonderfully soft and healthy with a beautiful slight scent.
Overall Recommendation
The shampoo is definitely different from anything I have tried before prompting me to write this review the fact that it felt so much different on my scalp and hair impressed me greatly.
I have yet to try a Ren product that I don't like. I recommend this product and brand highly especially if you have sensitive skin/scalp and at a price everyone can afford it just makes for great value for money.
I can't wait to try more of the range!

July JolieBox

I loved last months Jolie box which i only received not too long ago due to postal issues,i decided i needed to cut back and cancelled my subscription but the money must have already come out of my bank because July's box landed on my doormat today and i am pretty pleased with it to be honest.

I received....

Full sized Yardley Peony luxury body wash - This is a little old fashioned but i like Yardley,it seems to be having a bit of a revival at the moment.

Etat Pur express purifying mask- I am a big fan of Etat Pur,having used their products before. My skin is in dire need of a facial, i will be doing my own at the weekend and will use this.

Wen by chaz Dean sweet almond and mint cleansing conditioner- This looks and smells amazing and is unlike any conditioner i have tried before because it has a foaming effect.I will defiantly be reporting back on this one :)

Jane Iredale Tantasia sample-A mini tan building moisturiser which smells lovely and zesty.

Jolie toe separates annnndddddd

last but no means least..

2 x Nails girls nail polish- In a bronze and gold shade that will look great with a tan

Hope you enjoy you boxes for those who ordered and i would be interested to know what you thought of your box.

I meant to mention that i received an email last night from Glossybox who were giving away the Natural box or Harrods box with this months Glossybox, all for £12.90
You have to mention which box you want 'Natural' or 'Harrodsbox' during checkout (in promo code box)  but it was only for the first 100 people so it may be up its limit now but worth a try!

RIP Stella

Sadly 2 days ago we had to say goodbye to our brloved staffie dog 'Stella'.
She was the ripe old age of 12,we have had her since she was a 8week old puppy and she was very much part of the family.
She was diagnosed with breast and lung cancer so we spoilt her for a few months.
She was energetic at times but became very withdrawn then all of a sudden was struggling to walk and was in pain so we made the heartbreaking decision to let her go.
Watching her in the vets is one of the most sad times i have ever had to endure and i was in floods of tears.
The house is earily quiet without her here and i keep finding myself doing things that i did when she was still here and then i remember.
I thought losing a pet would not be as hard but she was more than a pet,she was one of the family.
I so understand how people feel when their pet dies and my heart goes out to you.

RIP Stella xxx

 Ice Age 4 - Continental Drift 3D

I took my children on Friday teatime to watch Ice Age 4.
I have always really enjoyed the Ice Age films and found them really funny.
It has the same lovable and hilarious characters with some new baddies,it became quite apparent very quickly that famous names where voicing the main characters as they were familiar.
The 3D aspect of the film was ok but nothing special,it had a good story line and some hilarious scenes,it was great to listen to all the children giggling in the cinema.
A thoroughly enjoyable film that has everybody laughing, young and old,my favourite character being the 'granny' she was hilarious.

highly recommend no matter what age you are :)

JUNES JOLIEBOX

I recently received discount code for Junes joliebox and was really excited.
There was a delay in postage but it finally arrived the other day.
Its contents were....

Yonka Pamplemousse protective and revitalising cream with essential oils,i have never tried this and it comes in a massive 50ml which after looking up is really expensive so i am really happy to have received this.

institut esthederm spray bronzant which advises to spray before going out in the sun to facilitate bronzing.Yet another product i have never tried.L'Occitane hydration cream,i now have 2 of these after receiving the same one in the latest in beauty box.

Rouge a levres lipstick, this looks great and good quality but unfortunately deep red is not my shade so will be passed on
I also received a little Jolie nail file.

This months box was centred on French products and i was over the moon with the contents.

I cant wait to try,

Latest in Beauty Editors pick for June box

I was informed that there was an editors pick facial care box in June being released and although i have lots of face creams i could not resist the box.
It was a bargain at £11.90 which included p&p and these boxes are so popular that i didn't want to miss the boat.
It didn't take very long at all to come and i was not disappointed.

The box is nothing special but the contents were great.

I was happy with the Etat Pur full size micellar cleansing water, this product is so gentle and kind to the skin,it effectively removed makeup and debris from the skin with the minimal of effort and is lovely and refreshing,it leaves the skin clean and not irritated at all.

The Melvita Naturalift facial cream is great.
Melvita is one of my favourite brands and this one did not disappoint,it smells amazing and is so soothing and plumping on your skin.

The Kiehls midnight recovery concentrate comes in a great expensive looking bottle with pipette applicator.
This blend of essential oils smells amazing but is a little tricky to apply and in my opinion i have not noticed any difference yet but it is quite expensive so do not know if i am sold on this one yet but will do a full review later.

I have yet to try the other products so will report back.

All in all a fantastic box :)

A few goodies from New Look

I nipped into New look for a browse the other day and tried on some gorgeous embellished sandals but unsure as whether i could justify buying more shoes i decided to nip back if i decided that i had to have them.
Anyway i went back for them an hour later and they had gone which of course made me want them even more so when i got home i ordered them online.
New Look have an offer of 25% off summer shoes meaning that they cost £18.75 instead of the usual £24.99.
You get free delivery to your local store if you spend over £20 so i added a few more must haves to my basket, gorgeous sparkly earrings and friendship bracelet £3.99 buy one get one free and a cute scull paisley scarf for £2.99.
All together the whole lot came to just over £25,Bargain!

I picked them up today and i love them :)

Latest In Beauty Editors pick box June 2012

I couldn't resist ordering the Latest in Beauty Editors pick box for June 2012,having missed out on the great looking last editors pick box which promptly sold out, i was not missing this one too.

It came really quickly and i think it was great value for money.

I have already tried a few of the products but was more than happy to receive the fab Melvita products,i have tried a few of their products before and they are such great quality and feel fantastic on the skin.

The Melvita products are sooo refreshing and the rose scent is gorgeous.

The Percy and reed dry conditioner i can not really vouch for because i gave this to my daughter but i do not think that it seems that impressive by all accounts.

The Elemis body cream is great,i have not tried many Elemis products but this particular one feels lovely and moisturising as well as tightening on the skin and leaves a gorgeous glittery sheen.

Pixi lip twin is a bit tricky to use but i would not want to pay the full £12 for it :(

The little pot of MOA green balm is lovely, reminds me of Vick's vapour rub and has a multitude of uses.

The self tan mitt i found was being given away on another site which i was a bit miffed about.

All in all i love the box and it was worth the money to me

Did anyone else get the box? what did you think?

Madara ecoface deep purifying foam

I was kindly sent a full sized bottle of Madara's ecoface purifying foam to use and review.
The deep purifying foam gives a deep cleanse and removes all makeup to leave your skin feeling soft and refreshed.
I am giving an honest and true account of my views on this product.
Firstly i genuinely love the Madara brand having tried one or two of their products, i am always really happy with them and eager to try products i have not yet tried before.
I also love that their products are natural and organic.

Madara Eco Face Deep Purifying Foam 150ml
The bottle looks simple but effective and also comes in recyclable packaging.
The pump dispenser is easy to use and after a quick shake, only one pump is needed to dispense the right amount needed for my face.
The foam has a light and creamy consistency to it that feels really nice and soothing on the face, not at all drying.

I did get a little in my eyes and unlike some products this did not sting my eyes at all so very eye friendly.
After rinsing my skin feels really refreshed, revitalised and soft.
You can smell the lovely subtle rose aroma of the rose water which is also very refreshing and natural.
After a few Weeks of using this as part of my facial care routine my skin was left looking and feeling really refreshed and soft.
You only need a little each time so this product will last you a while making it great value for money.
Fantastic for all skin types especially Sensitive.
I am really enjoying using this cleanser and would recommend it for an effective, fresh but gentle deep clean.

Boot Sale Toiletries Haul

I visited a local car boot sale this morning, there was a lot of rubbish there but i did come across a great stall that sold handmade bath products and cute little gift sets.
They are made by Sissy-Bee and i could not resist buying a selection of their great looking bath bombs/creamers.

I certainly could not resist the delicious looking cake bath creamers is a lovely citrus scent.
They also sold cute little gift sets.
A cute little bag which contained a surprise  2 vanilla ice cream bath bombs with a little ribbon and ice cream attached, lovingly wrapped in tissue paper.
The other box set i bought contained 2 deliciously scented duck bath bombs and a Divine bath creamer.
They came in the box looking professionally wrapped in tissue paper with a lovely ribbon tied around the box.

I bought another of these for my sister as her birthday will be very soon.

I cant wait to try them, they look fantastic :)

I also happened to come across some brand new body shop items in one of my favourite body shop scents 'Sweet Lemon'

They were a bargain at only 50p each :)

Latest In Beauty CEW Box

I heard about the the Latest in beauty CEW beauty awards box and was intrigued. I knew that the last box was very popular and sold out quickly.
It contained some firm favourites of mine but also some products and names that i was eager to try.
All i needed to do was buy the Mail on Sunday newspaper and inside their magazine they would be printing a link where you could order your box.
That Sunday morning bright and early i nipped to my local shop only to be told that they had run out so frantically jumped in the car to the local supermarket where i managed to bag a copy.
Once home i went on the Internet only to see the link posted all over the Internet to said box.
All that panicking for nothing lol.
Needless to say i was straight on the site ordering the box.
A few days later it arrived.
I love it,definitely one of the best boxes that i have received so far,i will be reviewing the contents soon :)

Marie Claire
Body shop lip/cheek stain in Bronze Glimmer

I was kindly informed this month that Marie Claire would have a free Body Shop lip and cheek stain worth £10 in a choice of two colours,Bronze Glimmer and Rose Pink
I absolutely love the body shop and thought this is an offer too good to miss.
I opted for the bronze glimmer shade as the Rose Pink looked very red in colour and i prefer something more subtle looking for the day.
The magazine costs £3.70 but is well worth the price for such a good free gift.

The shade is a lovely bronze colour that looks quite glittery on the wand applicator but once applied it is quite subtle and needs reapplication to make it look more noticeable so you can build it up to the shade you require.
It is easy to apply and surprisingly it leaves quite a stain on the lips which is a lovely pink shade.
I was surprised at how easy it stained,i have not yet used it on my cheeks though.

I love this product because of the stain there is no need to keep on reapplying, the only thing i was not too sure of though was the slight Crayon type smell but i am now used to that and it no longer bothers me.

Make sure you get out this month and bag yours it is a fantastic offer not to be missed. :)

Friday 4 May 2012

I received an email this morning from Nails Inc and WOW!
I absolutely love the look of the new nail jewellery collection,i just have to buy them they are stunning.
Has anyone got these already,if so what did you think?
